The Sudanese Public Diplomacy Delegation meets with HPR
The Sudanese Public Diplomacy Delegation met with members of the House of People's Representatives today (May 09, 2016). While extending a warm welcome to the delegation, Speaker of the House of People's Representatives, Honorable Abadula Gemeda said, "It is with great honor and a true sense of brotherhood that we welcome you to Ethiopia, your second home. Indeed, when we talk about the peoples of Ethiopia and Sudan, we are referring to one people who live in two countries." Touching upon the legacy of historical relationship and the age-old ties between Ethiopia and Sudan, Honorable Abadula stressed that the two countries have been bound in a conjoined destiny since millennia. The Speaker said, "The Nile since the down of time has been echoing such a historic legacy of the Ethio-Sudan ties. In fact, the Nile served a timeless reminder of these four fundamental Messages: Mutual trust is the basis! Mutual benefit is the objective! Equality is the guarantee! And Coordination is the means." He further said Ethiopia and Sudan apart from natural resources, also share strong and long standing ties in culture, language, history and religion. "The exchange of visits by the Public Diplomacy team of both nations are already beginning to build a new tomorrow, improving personal and institutional ties to harness opportunities for the shared prosperity, peace and tranquility of the peoples of Sudan and Ethiopia," he added.
