State Minister Amb. Taye Atskeselassie receives Chilean Ambassador to Ethiopia
State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Taye Atske-selassie received copies of letters of credence of the newly appointed Chilean Ambassador to Ethiopia, Jaime Chomali on Wednesday (February 17, 2016).
Ambassador Taye Atske-selassie upon welcoming the guest commended the decision of the Chilean government to reopen its embassy in Addis Ababa after a long time. He added that this move showed the Chilean government’s commitment to further work with Ethiopia. Ambassador Jaime Chomali on his part said that Chile appreciated Ethiopian’s positive role in the region. Ambassador Chomali also acknowledged Addis Ababa’s position as diplomatic hub. Ambassador Taye wished the newly-appointed Ambassador success in his duties, assuring him of providing all the support required to enhance the relations between the two countries. Ambassador Taye also reaffirmed his readiness and commitment to work together to strengthen cooperation in all areas and expressed his country's desire to look into ways to implement the bilateral agreement with a view to broaden and strengthen partnerships on issues of mutual interest.
